Arno Leopard Marine flush valve?

    Thanks in advance, I've spent hours searching abd even using Google lens in effort to identify who the bell makes this toilet / flush valve. The logo I'd guess is SC? But it's led me no where.

    Here is a photo of the flush valve with a logo on it. It's a 1998 Arno Leopard yacht so Italian build. Any insight on even potential manufacture would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

    I don't think they make that stuff anymore, but the manufacturer is (was) definitely this one.

    I thought to check my old files, and found one of their catalogues.
    I made an abstract of the toilet components section, which you may find of some interest.
    Though it's 20+ years old stuff, and as I said I'm not sure they are still in business with these products, though they were rather popular back in the days, particularly in big-ish yachts...

    Wow, just wow! Capt Ralph I couldn't agree more. Mapism you are a outstanding and cannot thank you enough for the help. You nailed it, I tried searching for days.

    The issue is the ARNO Leopard yard was / is essentially unreachable and were of no help. But you my friend I cannot thank enough. The boat is Stateside here in the USA 70' on Lake Lanier in GA.

    If nothing else, being Italian and having grey hairs does help, when it comes to oldish Italian boats... :)

    I just emailed Sanguineti which does appear to be actively in business still. There catalog on there website still showed the toilets and was the same excerpt Mapism shared so I will see what they say if they respond. It seems to me like nothing would be able to retrofit as its very propriety in its mounting / seals & general design. The boats in incredible original shape so hoping that retrofitting / updating isn't necessary.

    Brother mapism has been a great resource for many years.
    If you did not notice, he is in Sardinia.
    At least he has hair to brag about albeit it is grey.

    Do yourself a favor and install a raritan head system in place of that antiquated Italian POS, for the probably the same money as the replacement pump, shipping, and customs to get it here.

    It isn't a pump it's a valve with non moving parts that's cracked and developed a small drip.

    Ive had raritan and head hunter royal flush toilets that never made it 5-6 years without issue.

    Does raritan offer a unit that is similar in function that might be ultimately what I have to do. A head that uses just freshwater without electric macerator etc or pump running on the head itself?

    Yes, both headhunter and raritan make toilets that only use water pressure to flush.

    Just in case you don't know his attitude yet, Capt J is calling POS what you've got (before even knowing what the problem was!) simply because it comes from Italy. I'm actually surprised that he didn't extend that to your whole boat... Sour grapes, I believe is the English expression for that! :)
    I mean, we are talking of a component that after 27 years of service on a boat just developed a small drip - and is still working anyhow, as I understand.
    It takes some nerve to call that a POS!

    BTW, since you are now explaining better what the problem is, I think all that valve body is plastic, isn't it?
    If so, chances are that just some epoxy resin along the crack could make it last another quarter of a century...

    No, it's because I've been down this road many times before. And, almost every time I've tried to repair old junk it's bitten me in the ass. It's because by the time you spend a week trying to track down the part, deal with the language barrier, deal with the exhorbinent air freight, customs fees, exchange rate. You could have installed a brand new toilet 4 weeks earlier, for probably less money, and IF you need a part for it, you can buy it, the same day. I wouldn't fix ANY 36 year old toilet on any boat. The boat is in a remote part of the U.S. for a yacht, and trying to find this part well, you tracked down a catalog. But an internet search shows nothing as far as a dealer or the part itself for sale or any of that. It comes from experience.

    I appreciate that if you install something on a boat that needs fixing every other season, parts availability is important.

    But what exactly does that have to see with labelling gratuitously as an "italian POS" something you know nothing about?
    You'll never hear myself pretending to know-it-all about anything, but at least I've put my arse on Sanguineti bowls more times than I can remember...

    It's a POS because its a 25 year old system. I am half Italian, I can call Italian parts POS if I feel like it, and some rightfully are. ANY 25 year old toilet bowl is going to have the porcelein worn off, unless it's been in a museum and their technology has been far surpassed. None of their dealers even sell their toilet parts anymore. They sell their windlasses and deck chairs. US made 25 year old Galley Maid toilets are POS' also, yet people spend just as much on a rebuilt toilet pump for them as they could replace the entire toilet for, and then they screw up over and over again. Carry on.

    When you find where you can buy this toilet flush valve, and the price, and a vendor willing to ship to the U.S. and associated cost, let us know. Because I don't see any vendors of it anywhere online, and only the manufacturer and no prices listed.

    Of course you can - and you often do, in fact.
    That's precisely what I wanted to make the OP aware of with my post you quoted: you have this habit of dismissing parts/boats/whatever if and when you feel like it, regardless of whether they really are.
    And quite often, knowing nothing at all about them - as in this case.

    As an aside, ref. your last question, my very first comment in this thread (post #3) was "I don't think they make that stuff anymore".
    And that was well before you jumped in for your usual show.
    It takes a really twisted logic/attitude to ask me now where to buy this thing!
