I would like to know any specific things to look for in a 2005 Neptunus 62 during the general survey and sea trial? Also, we plan to be liveaboards, and would like to know the biggest advantages and disadvantages for this specific boat. Thanks!
They are a good seaboat, good overall boat, good fuel capacity, efficiency and range. Look at all the insulation on all of the chilled water lines, it will most likely need to be replaced at this point. I don't like the stupid sunpad in front of the helm.
It’s been a minute but I recall the interior decks being chopped up, or multi-level. Would be a hard live aboard.
Pay very close attention to any vibration detected underway. We surveyed a 62 that had significant vibration resulting in cracked mounting brackets on the Cats. Turned out the cause was the exhaust system, not the running gear. $45,000. re-engineer. Hopefully specific to that boat.
Oh yes, A jungle gym of multi levels from aft to forward. Just what you want to live and retire in. My hips and knees hurt from our boat after 20+ years.
I've never heard of this on the 62's. I've run a bunch of them over the years (flybridge) and they all had c18's and no vibration issues. Not saying it didn't happen.
