    Hi there, I am considering purchasing one in the Mediterranean, to use in the summers in open sea and rivers. Hoping to find someone on here who has already had the experience I am hoping to have.

    I just missed a boat I was considering, an amazing 1964 Minorca but the search goes on.

    A 1964 WOOD motor yacht built by Italians with diesels of the same vintage? Right.

    You're not giving us a lot to go on, but If you're asking you may not know enough, and the learning experience may not be the experience you are hoping to have.

    So, very likely unless you have a VERY generous budget (several times what you paid for the boat) and access to loyal, qualified people who will represent your interest and legal status while you are absent and then find more people who know what they are doing, that will do it when they say they are going to do it, and finish it in the time they said it would take, people who can repair the boat's wood work, in the hull, interior, possibly structure, CONSTANTLY paint and varnish, maintain/rebuild/replace the engines/electrical system/plumbing systems/electronics and then a few more equally loyal people who can help you operate it.....

    Yeah, that could be a lot of fun.

    I suggest you spend a hundred K chartering first and getting to know the waters, so to speak. The people that can answer your question are most likely not on this forum. They are on the docks in the Med looking for loyal people that can..... etc.
