    I Sent My 1966 Chriscraft Roamer Water Pumps Off To Be Rebuilt. I Did Receive Gaskets With Pump. Question: Should You Use Any Dressing On Gaskets An/or Hoses When Installing? Sorry...671m Detroit Diesals.

    I like to use a very light coating of Permatex #2 on the paper gaskets. Make sure your gasket surfaces are clean and flat. You can also put a light coat of engine oil on the gear of the pump if it is gear driven. The impellor area of the pump should already have grease on it if it's a new pump so you shouldn't need to worry about that.
