Ok...I will remove one from the inlet side
Only 1 zinc? Why 2 holes then? Just curious
Too big to post by phone...will email it to you
I do see an potential issue...but...why is only one motor overheating? Both motors have the same zincs in the same places
2 on the cooler before water pump, one on flange before/after pump, and one on the cast tank
Long zincs-2 inches each....ends of most zincs crumbled apart or were missing...replaced 5 of them
Had 1 trip in between that went well...whatcha thinking about the zinc change?
I like it!
Good idea...how did he manage to get the cleaner to stay in the tank and not drain out the other side? Wish I had known about my over heating...
They are definitely stainless aftermarket...same on both engines...will warm the motor up, disconnect inlet and stick it in a 5 gallon bucket with...
Dump can is clean...was cleaned last year when motor was apart...nothing in it either...stainless aftermarket by the way...water consists of silt,...
Scratch my thought...if you went the other way, that would have caused your issue
Understood...look to drain the cast tank, disconnect inflow/outflow pipes, and the exchanger will be staring at you waiting for removal...then...
Detroits 671 ti....original cast exchangers...the raw water side was descaled last year on both motors...if one heats up, wouldnt the other also?
Well...my overheat at speed problem has resurfaced...guld temp almost 90...thinking thermostat or heat exchanger...under 1500 and it cools back...
He said he had his props redone...did they change the pitch on them?
Btw, if your boat is over 30 years old, it qualifies as an antique in Florida and the yearly registration is 7.00...not a misprint!!
New throttles and cables installed last year...throws are good...just trying to dial things in for the best speed, fuel economy possible without...
Changed both remote filters on the back of the trannys...little bit of sludge in the bottom of the canister...both trannys had maybe a half shot...
Still waiting for the mechanic
