How many times are you going to post the same incorrect misinformation on this site?
I had the same issue on two different boats where after years of working fine from idle it became hit or miss getting the synchronizer to engage....
Is it a Glendinning? Are you engaging from idle speed? If so, instead first try running up above 1000 RPM before you engage the synchronizer.
Looks like a 50' Constellation Flush Deck ...early 1960's ...'61 or '62 maybe. Or could be a 55' can't tell from the angle.
